Bartok Solo Sonata 1. Tempo di ciaccona

Clemens Audio Blog followers will enjoy this audio sample featuring violinist Mr. Stephen Tavani performing on a Clemens 2015 violin.

Mr. Tavani does a great job with Janacek's remarkable violin sonata, written in 1914 and features the Moravian compositional style of the early 20th century.  Following several revisions Janacek successfully captured, with his sonata, an expressive, complete tonal range of the violin which delivers a successful exploration of the instrument's technical aspects and character.  Interestingly,  the first international performance of the work was performed in Frankfurt in 1923  by German composer Paul Hindemith.

Of  further interest  are additional audio samples of this violin, which can be found on the YouTube Channel of Mr. Tavani performing live at the 11th International Jean Sibelius  Violin Competition in 2015.

This  Clemens violin's unique quality showcases  a robust soloist's tone and is constructed  from prized vintage tone wood stock found in the Clemens Violins collection dating circa 1820.  This audio sample can be followed via the press announcement of Mr. Tavani's appointment to concert master of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra.
